Oboro and Gbazor Idumu Daughter Seeks NAGS Director of Welfare Position

BENIKRUKRU — Victoria Timigbeha Tamaraemi, a daughter of Oboro Idumu and Gbazor Idumu in Benikrukru Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, has declared her intention to contest for the position of Director of Welfare of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) Worldwide.

Victoria, a Mass Communication student of Igbinedion University, said her aspiration is driven by a passion for service and a desire to ensure that every Gbaramatu student feels supported, represented, and valued within the association.

The welfare aspirant identified inadequate welfare support, weak communication, poor student participation, and limited collaboration among campus chapters as some of the major challenges confronting students in the association.

To tackle these challenges, she pledged to introduce welfare support initiatives for members in need, health awareness and medical outreach programmes, academic mentorship and career development opportunities, as well as a feedback system that would enable students to easily report welfare-related concerns.

According to her, the welfare department should serve as a bridge between students and the leadership of the association, ensuring that members' concerns are heard and addressed promptly.

Victoria described herself as compassionate, approachable, and committed to service, noting that her previous involvement in association activities and community initiatives has equipped her with the experience needed to effectively discharge the responsibilities of the office.

She further stated that regular communication, active collaboration among campus chapters, and inclusive programmes would be key strategies for promoting unity and strengthening participation among members.

The NAGS welfare hopeful also promised to maintain transparency and accountability by providing regular updates on welfare activities and ensuring fairness in decision-making processes.

Speaking on the preservation of Gbaramatu cultural heritage, she emphasized the need for NAGS to continue promoting the kingdom's language, traditions, and values through cultural programmes, educational activities, and community development efforts.

Victoria appealed to students to support her candidacy, assuring them of a leadership style anchored on integrity, empathy, accountability, and dedication to the welfare of all members.

If elected, she said, her administration would prioritize student welfare, improve communication, expand participation, and strengthen unity across NAGS campus chapters worldwide.
